Things to Do in Oban

Oban Distillery & Whisky

Visit the famous Oban Distillery, one of Scotland’s oldest working distilleries, and take a guided tour to learn about the whisky-making process. McCaig’s Tower

One of Oban’s most recognisable landmarks, McCaig’s Tower sits above the town and offers spectacular panoramic views across Oban Bay and the surrounding islands.

Island Trips

Oban is the main ferry hub for the Inner Hebrides, with regular sailings to islands including Mull, Iona, Coll and Barra. The journey to the Isle of Mull takes around 45 minutes, making it an ideal day trip.

Kerrera

Just a short ferry ride from Oban Bay, the island of Kerrera is perfect for a peaceful day out. Visitors can enjoy scenic coastal walks, visit the Gylen Castle ruins, and stop at the popular island tearoom.

Nearby historic sites include Dunollie Castle, located around a 15-minute walk along the coast from Corran House, and Dunstaffnage Castle, approximately 10 minutes’ drive from Oban.
